Return & Refund Policy

We’re Chubby Bear Couture, a tiny queer‑owned brand slinging body‑positive streetwear from Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. We want you to feel cute, comfy, and respected in your gear, not stressed about fine print.

This policy explains how returns, refunds and exchanges work for orders placed on our website, in line with Australian Consumer Law.

Change‑of‑mind returns (the vibes weren’t vibing)

  • We currently do not offer change‑of‑mind returns or refunds.

  • This includes: ordering the wrong size, deciding you don’t like the design anymore, or finding something else you prefer later.

  • Why? Every item is printed to order just for you, so we don’t keep bulk stock sitting around to resell.

Wrong size / fit issues

  • Please check the size chart on each product page before ordering.

  • If you’re unsure, you can always contact us before you buy and we’ll help you find the best fit for your body.

  • If the item matches the measurements and description on the product page but doesn’t feel quite right on your body, this counts as change of mind and isn’t eligible for a return or refund.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items (our responsibility)
Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund if your item has a major problem, such as:

  • The item is faulty or damaged.

  • The print or product is very different from what was described or shown.

  • You received the wrong item, size, colour or design compared with your order confirmation.

If this happens:

  • Contact us as soon as possible at hellocobber@chubbybearcouture.com.au with:

    • Your order number.

    • Clear photos of the issue (product, tags, packaging, and the fault).

    • A short description of what went wrong.

  • We’ll assess the issue and let you know the outcome.

  • If the issue is confirmed, we’ll usually offer one of the following, depending on what’s most appropriate:

    • A replacement of the same item.

    • A store credit/gift card.

    • A refund to your original payment method.

Timeframe for reporting issues

  • Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order if there’s a problem.

  • If Australia Post tracking shows your parcel as delivered, we treat that as the delivery date.

Items that can’t be returned

  • Change‑of‑mind returns.

  • Gift cards and store credit.

  • Items that have been worn (beyond trying on), washed, altered, or damaged after delivery.

  • Items with strong odours, stains, pet hair, or visible wear.

Return shipping

  • If we ask you to return an item because it’s faulty, damaged or incorrect, we’ll either:

    • Provide a prepaid return label; or

    • Reimburse reasonable return postage once we receive the item and confirm the issue.

  • We don’t cover return shipping for change‑of‑mind returns (as we don’t accept them).

Lost or delayed parcels

  • Once your order has been lodged with the carrier, delivery times are outside our control.

  • If your parcel is significantly delayed or appears lost, contact us and we’ll help you lodge an investigation with the carrier.

  • Depending on the outcome, we may offer a replacement or store credit at our discretion.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

  • Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

  • You may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy where goods fail to meet consumer guarantees (for example, if they are faulty, unsafe, not as described, or don’t last a reasonable time).
